Lord Siddhartha's party life

There are many mysterious things that could be said about the infancy and young childhood of Lord Siddhartha.

Animals, for example, were oddly attracted to him, even insects; and he never harmed any of them. However, because of this, he made a terrific mosquito screen , and the Royal Court soon found it expeditious to keep him handy when meetings took place in the rainy season or when it was near evening. Simply placing him in a bassinet near the meeting or party or whatever it was (and it was often a party, because King Suddhodana was something of a libertine) would cause all the mosquitoes in the area to gather around his crib, leaving the rest of the guests alone.

Attempts, however, to exterminate those clouds of mosquitoes as they gathered were soon abandoned, because whenever you killed mosquitoes around the Buddha, you got an extremely bad vibe that could only be described as supernatural.
