So there we were, driving in circles on the LA freeway in a Tesla in hell. Categorically, it would seem, unable to get to the seventh level of hell… as though things would be any better there …of course they won’t be, I thought to myself, because it’s hell.
I was in a foul mood.
“There must be some kinda way outta here,” remarked Lord Siddhartha, as the monotony began to test even his heavenly patience.
“Yeah,” I agreed. “But I doubt we’re gonna get any help with that. This is after all, an epic quest-type journey and above all a test of your skills, patience and determination to attain Nirvana.”
“Attain Nirvana?” Lord Siddhartha looked at me askance. “Who ever said anything about attaining? I thought we just had to get there.”
“Attaining and getting there are kinda the same thing,” I said.
“No they’re not,” corrected Lord S. “To attain means to achieve. And to achieve means to obtain, to get, loosely put. Not to arrive at.”
